There are several agencies such as Anatel for telecommunications equipments, ANEEL for energy, ANVISA for medical equipments which you should be consulting before to install an equipment in Brazil even if you have foreign safety and operational certification such as FCC, CSA, etc.
General Steps for communications production certification:
- Tests in Brazilian certified Lab
- Prepare and send result for Anatel in Brasilia
- Get the Anatel number
Certification costs and duration
The costs for a communication type equipment to be certified, in average costs around $10K USD depending on the product, your partner and test laboratory chargers. The duration from the start of the tests and receiving the Anatel certification number is from 2 to 6 months.
